Congress appoints new Disciplinary C’ttee members

 The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has unanimously ap­pointed 10 persons to serve as members of the Disci­plinary Committee.

The decision was taken at the 30th Ordinary Session of Congress on August 27.

The new Disciplinary Committee membership will serve for the next four years, starting immediately follow­ing their appointment on August 27.

In all, six members from the previous Committee were retained. They include Lawyer Osei Kwadwo Adow, who was maintained as Chairperson, while Lawyer Lorraine Adjekai Crabbe Ababio was appointed the

Vice-Chairperson of the Committee.

Lawyer Emmanuel Nikoi, Elsie Nana Acheampong, Nathaniel Laryea and Shaibu Ali all got renewed terms as members of the Disciplinary Committee.

The four new members of the Committee include Lawyer Adelaide Benneh Prempeh, Lawyer Cyril Boateng Keteku, Lawrence Asare-Attuah and Lawyer Richard Osei Anane.

The Executive Council, acting under Article 56 of the Statutes, submitted the proposed membership of the Committee to Congress for approval under Articles 32(2) (r) and 55(5) of the Statutes of the GFA.

The GFA Statutes, under Article 56 (headed – Disci­plinary Committee), pro­vides as follows:

“There shall be a Dis­ciplinary Committee made up of the Chairman, Vice-Chairman and 8 other Members. Three (3) mem­bers may be empanelled to hear a given case. The Chairman shall be a member of the Ghana Bar Associ­ation of not less than ten (10) years at the Bar. The Vice-Chairman shall be a member of the Ghana Bar Association of not less than ten (10) years at the Bar.”

The appointed members will serve the new term until August 26, 2028. –Ghanafa. org
