Nsoatreman lock horns with Algeria’s CS Constantine today
Nsoatreman FC will resume continental action today at the Accra Sports Stadium where they entertain Club Sportif Constantine from Algeria in their first leg second preliminary game of the CAF Confederations Cup competition.
Nsoatreman snatched the ticket to represent Ghana at the showpiece after emerging victorious in the nation’s FA Cup competition.
The Ghanaians kicked their campaign off in a grand style, beating Elect Sports of Chad over two legs. That feat, the first at the continental level, seem to have gingered the Nsoatreman lads ahead of what look like a more difficult opposition in Constantine.
The Algerians accounted for Rwanda’s Police FC with a 4-1 aggregate over two legs.
That sets the stage for what is expected to produce a lot of fireworks as both sides eye the ticket to play at the league stage of the competition.
At home, a lot would be expected from Nsoatreman as the fans cheer them to victory but that will not come easy because the Algerians, with the pedigree to spoil parties in such high profile games, could wreak havoc.
Ghana Premier League champions, Samartex, will follow on Sunday with their CAF Champions League clash at the same stage with Raja Casablanca of Morocco in Accra.
That would also be an encounter to define their fate as far as progress to the next stage is concerned.
The two games are win-or- burst in nature because it is only a respectable scoreline that could give them any chance in the second encounters in North Africa.
