Inter Allies, Liberty, Dwarfs relegated
Liberty Professionals, Ebusua Dwarfs and Inter Allies have been relegated after the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League (GPL) season ended yesterday.
Liberty who needed a win to escape relegation drew goalless with survivors King Faisal in their final day encounter while Ebusua Dwarfs’ 2-1 win against Bechem United was not enough to save them from dropping to the lower division.
Legon Cities, however, had to overcome a scare an Eleven Wonders scare to secure elite football next season.
They came back from 2-1 down to beat Eleven Wonders 3-2 to escape relegation at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Eleven Wonders scored early in the game but Francis Addo equalized in the 33 minute only for Wonders to take the lead again in the 43rd minute through Ganiu Abass.
The host came into the second half with two quick goals from Matthew Anim Cudjoe and Hans Kwofie which they defended to secure all three points to remain in the top flight.
Meanwhile Bibiani Gold Stars and Accra Lions have been promoted into the Premiership next season.
