It’s not mandatory to appoint ministers from one party
An aspiring independent
presidential candidate for Election 2020, Marricke Gane,
has assured that he will assemble the best team
of people to work with him if he
wins the elections.
He noted that “even though Article 78 (1) of the 1992
Constitution requires the president to appoint majority of his ministers from parliament
it is not mandatory for me to appoint
my minister from one party because one party does not have all the knowledgeable
persons in the party.
“Public office is not appointing who have shouted most in their political life, I will not be disadvantaged in appointing people from parliament because as an independent candidate, as an advantage over an elected party candidate, if you are president in power and from political party, you will only appoint people from your side.
“But as an independent candidate, I have liberty to appoint best from both sides, we have to think about and stop saying it is disadvantage,’’ he added.
Mr Gane, a chartered accountant and an author, who has managed
global innovation
and development funds, intimated that, “I will assemble people who are
capable and share in my vision to transform the nation and position where it
belongs, I am not tainted by the nation’s political system.
“I bring refreshing creativity, inclusiveness and objectivity to how politics is done, political willpower to challenge and change faulty status quos devoid of blind party allegiance, our educational system and economy need radical policy innovations to create new opportunities by releasing full potential human resource.
“The solution to our development lies in youthful population, if well-equipped, motivated, directed, I am passionate with high integrity, balanced Christian, respecter of all faiths, creeds, our generation is remaining bridge between truncated dreams of our forebears and eager hopes of posterity unborn.
“We have no choice but to disrupt every faulty status quo, make nation work, burden will demand collectively, I am here to put nation first, my call is to well-meaning citizenry to join paradigm revolution, together we can create fitting inheritance for our future generation, and unleash the citizenry to build the nation.
“Let’s bring our time, expertise to volunteer our finances to support, assist to bring your votes to a good cause and bring your influence to steer a new order,’’ Mr Gane appealed. -rainbowradioonline.com
