The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has presented an amount of Gh¢50,000 to Women’s Premier League and FA Cup champions, Ampem Darkoa Ladies to supporttheir Africa campaign.

The Asantehene made the gesture when the management and playing body of the team paid a courtesy call on him to present the trophies they won to him.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies were crowned champions of the 2021/22 league season after beating Hasaacas Ladies 5-3 on penalties.

That will give them the ticket to represent Ghana at the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Zone B championship qualifiers in Abidjan for the CAF Women’s Champions League later in the year.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II congratulated the team for winning two of the trophies they lost to Hasaacas Ladies last year.

“It is a delight to have you here with your trophies. I want to congratulate you for winning the league title and FA Cup; you have really done well for yourselves.”

According to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the biggest challenge lies ahead of the team at the WAFU B tournament and charged the team to be focused to realise the dream of lifting the WAFU B trophy to qualify for the Champions League.

Responding, Nana Opoku Fosu Gyeabour II, Chief of Koase and president of the club, thanked Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for the warm reception and the kind gesture.
