Methodist Men’s Fellowship honours 4 members for dedicated service
The Men’s Fellowship of the Good Shepherd Methodist Society, Fan Milk, in the Awoshie Circuit of the Methodist Church Ghana, has honoured four of its members for their outstanding contributions to the growth and development of the Church and the Fellowship.
The four awardees, Brothers Kofi Asah Opoku, Joseph Kwame Egyir, Eric Yaw Torso and Seth Victor Osabuey Jnr were described as “heroes” for their selfless service over the years.
In collaboration with the Church, the Fellowship held a special service on Sunday to celebrate the “gallant members”, during which they were presented with plaques, citations and an undisclosed sum of money.
Delivering a sermon, the Minister in charge of the Good Shepherd Society, the Very Rev. James G. K. Larbi, said the awards were not only to recognise the dedicated service of the four men but also to motivate others to emulate their example.
He noted that the awardees had demonstrated commitment and dedication to the affairs of the Fellowship and the Church, adding that they had consistently sought ways to advance the work of the Church, some for as long as 24 years.
A Connexional Executive Member of the Association of Methodist Men’s Fellowships, Mr Wallace Essuman, congratulated the awardees for their contributions, which he said had earned them a well-deserved recognition.
The Vice-Chairman of the Northern Accra Diocese (NAD) of the Association of Methodist Men’s Fellowship, Mr Isaac Achiampong, who led a delegation to supervise the ceremony, also commended the Society and the Fellowship for recognising the efforts of the four men.
He urged members of the Fellowship across the Diocese to give their best in service to the Church, noting that while their reward in heaven was assured, their good deeds would also be acknowledged on earth.
Other officers from the Northern Accra Diocese who supported the presentation of the awards were Messrs Joseph Attram, Kwesi Adusei Baidoo, Kweku Sersah-Johnson and William Annor-Kumi.
