Policeman’s wife remanded for causing harm to neighbour
The Accra Circuit Court has remanded Charity Bimpong, a 32-year-old wife of a policeman for allegedly causing harm to Mercy Nsoh, her neighbour, at the Osu Police Barracks.
Charity claimed Mercy injured her in the eye in a previous fight, hence her revenge.
Chief Inspector Georgina Ama Agbodeka told the Court that Mercy, the complainant, and Charity, accused, were both traders and resided at Osu Police Barracks.
He said a fight ensued between the complainant and accused and they were separated.
Chief Insp Agbodeka said the next day, accused allegedly hit complainant with a board at a drinking spot near the Osu Police barracks.
The prosecution said a witness in the case shouted for help and rushed to the scene to rescue the victim.
Chief Insp Agbodeka said another witness said Charity injured Mercy in the eye during a fight the previous day.
The prosecution said accused denied the offence in her caution statement. -GNA
