VODEC Africa launches 2024 Nat’l Emerging Leaders Economic Forum

The Visionary Organisational Development and Entrepreneurial Club (VODEC) Africa, has launched the 2024 National Emerging Leaders Economic Forum in Accra, to empower future leaders for sustainable economic growth.

The forum is expected to help develop a new breed of leaders acquire skills to be able to tackle challenges associated with the complex world economic system.

It is scheduled to take place on September 23, 2024, on the theme: ‘Leading for Sustainable Economic Growth in a Multipolar World: The Role of Emerging Leaders.”

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of VODEC Africa, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), Mr Daniel Asomani, at the launch of the forum last Thursday, said 4,000 young men and women have been targeted to attend the forum while one million participants would be expected to join online.

According to Mr Asomani, the global economy was dynamic, complex, and multipolar, hence the need for world economies to move away from old measures and adopt new economic measures in order to enhance economic growth.

He also indicated that the event would spark a much needed evolution in Ghana’s economic landscape, but many of the potential emerging leaders in the country were marginalised.

“They are burdened by a lack of opportunities, limited access to resources, and a deep sense of disillusionment. We see an alarming trend of brain drain, with our brightest minds leaving for greener pastures, fuelled by lack of faith in the future of our nation,” Mr Asomani indicated.

The Founder and President of Worldwide Miracle Outreach, Dr Lawrence Tetteh, a panellist, said the forum would provide a platform for concrete solutions that would leverage technology, embrace innovation and prioritise sustainability.

“We have conducted extensive research, which will be presented at the forum, offering valuable insights and actionable strategies. This forum will be catalyst for change, a platform where the voices of emerging leaders are heard and their ideas are considered”, he said.

Dr Tetteh added that the forum was a call to action and urged the media to highlight the critical need for strong leadership.

VODEC Africa is an NGO that focuses on empowering youth in leadership, entrepreneurship, and carrier development.
