Walker rallies executives, members for Election 2024
An Independent Presidential Candidate in Election 2020, Alfred Asiedu Walker, has rallied his national executives, members and supporters for an electoral showdown with the country’s two main political parties, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He asked them to fight hard until the NPP and the NDC are defeated in the 2024 elections.
“I encouraged you not to relent but to work vigorously till 2024 to win power by preaching my vision and mission to the citizenry,” Mr Walker stressed.
Addressing Southern Ghana regional representatives in Accra, he bemoaned the situation where the two main political parties had not been able to transform the economy and not imparted on the livelihoods of Ghanaians.
It was the second and final meeting for the year for those regional executives in Southern Ghana, including the Ashanti, Western North, Volta, Central and Greater Accra regions with previous meetings held for representatives from northern Ghana.
James Kwabena, the Ghana Union Movement (GUM) 2020 parliamentary candidate for Kwabre East Constituency, said it was about time citizens especially the youth changed the NDC and NPP mentality because they were not helping in rapid development of the country.
“We need a saviour, someone who will talk for us, it is time we the youth put our minds together as one listening to visionary leader who will die for us and for love of the country because Mr Walker thinks ofthe youth than elderly and I appeal to them to come together and rally behind him to win 2024 elections and rescue us from the two parties,” he said.
Kofi Opoku, a former NDC branch organiser at Nungua in the Greater Accra Region, said he left the party because they had not been fair to Ghanaians in terms of their promises saying “I was an NDC member but I have realised they were untruthful to Ghanaians so I left to join United One Ghana.
“I believe Mr Walker can help our country so let us all come together and vote for him so that when he comes to power our wishes will be granted,” he pleaded.
He urged Ghanaians to dislodge both NDC and NPP because they had proved beyond doubts they had nothing tangible to offer the nation other than dancing to the tune of family and friends. -GNA
