Govt to support women-led shea businesses – Veep

The Vice President, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has pledged the government’s commitment to providing immediate and adequate financial support to women-led enterprises in the shea industry to enable them to expand, create jobs and contribute to the economic transformation of northern Ghana.

She said supporting women entrepreneurs who were adding value to the region’s abundant shea resources was critical to creating sustainable livelihoods and reducing economic deprivation in communities across the North.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang made the pledge when she paid a working visit to Nuts for Growth (N4G), a women-led shea processing company at Duuyin in the Tamale South Constituency, where she toured the factory and interacted with its management and workers. Read More
