Kotoko worsen Hearts plight, Oly win at last!

 Sensational Ugandan striker, Steven Mukwala secured for Asante Kotoko a season double over Accra Hearts of Oak as he scored two goals againstthe Phobians in their match day 31 game of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) honoured at the Baba Yara

 Sports Stadium, yesterday.

Yesterday’s win plunged Hearts into a precarious position as other relegation threatened teams nar­rowed the gap on them.

It was also Kotoko’s second win over their bitterest rivals after beating them 3-2 in the first round.

With a single win in their last six games, the Oly attack eased the pressure as Mensah rounded­up the Chelsea goalkeeper to slot home the opener on 27 minutes.

Olympics waited till the 51st minutes for the second goal through Amoah but Aman­konacaused a scare when he scored to half the deficit on the 62nd minute;but Mensah restored the two goal lead four minutes later.

On 67 minutes,Amankona was presented with a chance to score his second goal from the spot after defender Richard Botchwey brought him down but he shot into the arms of substitute goal­keeper SeiduSumaila.

Five minute later, goalkeeper Sumaila fouled Amankona in the box for another penalty which he converted to 3-2.

Aduana FC midfielder Yussif­Chibsah scored in the second half to secure a 1-0 win over Nations FC on Saturday as they moved

 to second position on the Ghana Premier League table.

He tapped home from close range in the 55th minute to help the side bag maximum points.

The ‘Ogya’ club have now amassed 49 points while Nations have dropped to third on 48 points with three matches to end the season.

Karela United enhanced their survival prospects with a 2-1 win at home to Nsoatreman FC.

TakyiWelbeck opened the scoring for the home side as early as the 16th minute with a sleek finish at the NaaSheriga Sports Complex.

Winger Collins Kofi Kudjoe levelled the scores with a superb finish before Fataw Mohammed restored the lead with the second goal for the Pride and Passion.

Accra Lions demolished Be­chem United 3-0 to move back into the top four in the capital on Saturday.

Dominic Amponsah opened the scoring for the home side in the 13th minute before other goals from Yahaya Mohammed (71st) and Daniel Kwame Awuni (77th) condemned the visitors to the heavy defeat at the Accra Sports Stadium.
