New venue for Black Stars, CAR clash
FIFA has notified the Ghana Football Association (GFA) of a change in venue for the penultimate 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Central African Republic.
The match will now take place at the Stade d’Honneur de Meknes. The kick-off time, date, and match officials remain unchanged.
According to a Ghana Football Association (GFA) statement, the match would be officiated by Referee Milazare Patrice from Mauritius.
Assisting him on the lines would be Assistant I: Cauvelet Louis Ralph Fabien, also from Mauritius and Assistant Referee 2: Padayachy Shaji from Seychelles.
The Fourth Official will be Arissol Noris Aaron Godfrey from Seychelles, Referee Assessor: Gaye Fatou from Senegal, Match Commissioner, Kaouachi Jamal, from Morocco and Security Officer, Efughu Odochi Joan from Nigeria.
Meanwhile, the Black Starlets sealed qualification to the 2026 U17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after a commanding 2-0 victory over arch-rivals, Nigeria, in the semifinal of the WAFU Zone B U17 Championship.
The win marks Ghana’s return to the continental stage for the first time since 2017.
The Starlets started the game with intent and were rewarded with two quick goals in the first half. Michael Awuli broke the deadlock with a fine strike before Robinho Yao Gavi doubled the lead to put Ghana firmly in control.
