Olympics, Dreams FC share spoils

Troubled Accra Great Olympics yesterday shared the spoils with Dreams FC in their Ghana Premier League (GPL) outstanding match played at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The result moved Olympics above another relegation threatened side, Karela United, with the same points haul but with a superior goal aggregate.

It leaves them with the harsh reality of having to win their last two games against Accra Hearts of Oak on Sunday in Accra and Real Tamale United on the final day of the season.

Dreams looked comfortable in their position on the league table and that was translated to the field where they massed up in defence and midfield to stop the ‘Dade’ boys from causing any havoc.

That strategy masterminded by Coach Karim Zito also caught the Olympics rear ‘pants down’ on a few occasions where they relied on some individual brilliance to thwart those efforts.

But as the side needing the points most to climb to safety, Olympics kept pushing for a goal but failed to find a way past the Dreams FC defence to end the first half barren.

They continued with the same aggression in the second half and were nearly rewarded as a goal was called out for offside.

Olympics fought hard in the closing stages of the game with a lot of their men forward, but failed to break the Dreams FC defence; eventually settling for a deserved goalless draw.
