FA to investigate RTU vs Nkoranza Warriors MC

Following the receipt of a Complaint from the referees of the match between Real Tamale United and Nkoranza Warriors FC, on January 25, 2021, the Compliance and Integrity Officer of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has opened an investigation into the conduct of the Match Commissioner (MC), Ibrahim Fuseini.

The investigation is in relation to a Division One league Zone One Match day 3 match played between Real Tamale United FC and Nkoranza Warriors FC at the Aliu Mahama Stadium, Tamale.

The Match Commissioner was alleged to have attempted to bribe the referees in order for them not to write an accurate report about the incidents that happened during and after the match.

The Compliance and Integrity Officer of the GFA is working with the GFA Prosecutors and other experts in the investigation.

According to an FA statement, the report of the investigation would subsequently be sent to the appropriate judicial body for necessary action.

Meanwhile, the Match Commissioner will not officiate any match until the matter was fully adjudicated in accordance with the Regulations of the Association.

It said members of the general public can report any unethical act or behaviour by a club official, match officials or GFA official to the integrity office with email – integrity@ghanafa.org or to the hotline – 0593371735.

In another development, the Immigration Ladies’ Coach, Joseph Badger, has praised his team for picking a point against Hasaacas Ladies in match-day two of the National Women’s Premier league played over the weekend.
The match played at the McDan La Town Park in Accra saw Immigration Ladies hold Hasaacas to a goalless draw.

According to the Coach, it was a splendid performance, adding that, “My team did well against Hasaacas. They are a big team in the competition with an experienced Coach Yussif Basigi in charge, so picking a point against them was good. I think my girls have done very well.
“We even had injury challenges in the team but on a whole, I think my players did well for holding them.
“It was a good game. Some teams play at home and lose so for us to pick a point from this game is manageable. We would correct our mistakes going into the next match” he noted.
He, however, slammed referee Seraphine Anyinam’s performance, though he was a bit hesitant.

He said, “I don’t normally criticise referees but the officiating was not the best. I leave that to the Match Commissioner when she files her report.”
Immigration Ladies would travel to face Ladystrikers in match-day three and the coach has set his sights on amassing all points.

“We are going for the ultimate which is winning. That is the target for now,” he said.
The draw gives Immigration ladies a point after losing to Berry Ladies in the opening match. –GNA
