Ghana Golf Assoc. workshop for journalists

The Ghana Golf Association (GGA) will tomorrow hold a one-day workshop for sports journalists to equip them on golf reporting at the Bok Nam Kim Golf Club at Burma Camp from 10am.

The workshop will introduce golf to the journalists and provide the requisite basic reporting skills, tools, language, techniques, changes, and new rules, among others, to ensure accurate reportage.

According to the GGA, the event will also serve as a bridge between sports journalists and the golf industry while networking and building stronger ties with reporters in order to enable them to cover golf countrywide.

Speaking to the Times Sports yesterday, the Honorary Secretary and Tournament Director at GGA, Mr Solomon Allotey, said over a period of time, the association had made a few observation about golf reporting and as the body in charge of the sport finds it necessary to provide some insight.

“Covering the sport goes be

yond just scores and stats; this workshop is one of our many educational drives, designed to provide our journalists with the knowledge and skill levels as well as valuable insights, tips, and techniques to improve golf reportage.”

He revealed that they have lined up experienced and seasoned resource persons with rich experience in the sport to take the participants through the programme.
