Group: Re-elect Nyonyo as Council of State member
Members of a group calling itself Patriotic Citizens for Development (PACDEV) has appealed to assembly members nominated to participate in the forthcoming Council of State election in the Volta Region to re-elect Francis Nyonyo to represent the region at the Council of State for a second term.
Mr. Nyonyo is in the contest against eight others, including Charles Atsu-Koni, Frederick Kwame Gbeku, Christian Osei Dziidzi, Dr. Bernice Adiku Heloo, who is the outgoing Member of Parliament (MP) for the Hohoe Constituency, Felix Lartey, Daniel Kwabla Dzakpah, Robert Castro Mediale, and Osie Togbe Adza Tekpor VII, known in private life as Kwame Harry Adorbor.
A statement signed on its behalf by Emmanuel Senyo Amekplenu, Executive Director of PACDEV, said Mr. Nyonyo, in his first term as a member of the Council of State, was able to abridge the government and the Volta Region and had paid his dues in the areas of politics, traditional leadership and development, and deserved the support and assistance of the region for a second term.
It said Mr. Nyonyo was on record to have assisted and supported many people from the region to attain different political leadership roles in the country during his first term as a member of the Council of State and called on members of the Electoral College to assist and support Mr Nyonyo because it was time to reciprocate what he had done for the region with re-election. –citinewsroom.com
