MTN FA Cup: Kotoko can scale Berekum Chelsea hurdle… as Golden Kick, Attram De Visser chase history in semifinals

Asante Kotoko and Berekum Chelsea will face each other in a tough semifinal clash of the MTN FA Cup competition tomorrow at the T&A Park in Tarkwa.

The all-Premier League clash is one to define the season of the two teams as the Premier League trophy seems out of reach for them.

Kotoko trail the league leaders, Nations FC, by three points with four matches left to go.

Chelsea, however, is hanging around the middle ranks of the table, needing a miracle to get a top four finish.

But Chelsea harbour similar ambitions and would, therefore, require an extraordinary performance from the two to undo each other to run away with the ticket for the final.

That would be preceded by the first semifinal game between Golden Kick FC and Attram De Visser tomorrow at the same venue.

The two are the remaining Division One League (DOL) clubs in the competition and got to this stage after eliminating Karela United FC and Pac Academy in the quarterfinals.

History awaits the winner who would follow in the footsteps of Okwahu United and Bofoakwa Tano as the third lower division side to play in the MTN FA Cup final since FC Nania lifted the trophy in 2010/2011.

This would provide enough motivation for the two sides to go at each other to face the winner of tomorrow’s other semifinal game
