Oly, Samartex share spoils
Accra Great Olympics drew goalless at the Accra Sports Stadium with visiting Samartex FC in their betPawa match day 11 Ghana Premier League fixture.
The home team started the game on the front foot, pushing the visitors into their box in search of the opener.
They came close to grabbing it on the 15th-minute mark when Ebenezer Sekyere rose to head Emmanuel Antwi’s cross that hit the crossbar.
Moments later, Kekeli Attor forced goalkeeper Kofi Baah into a good save after he connected a Michael Osei cross from the right flank.
In the 29th minute, Prince Antwi brought the best out of goalkeeper Baah who reacted brilliantly to a goal-bound strike.
Back from the break, the visitors lifted their game and in the 54th minute could have shocked the host but Baba Hamadu Musa who was left with almost an empty net, shot over after goalkeeper Benjamin Asare failed to make a save from a delivery into the box.
The game became even with both sides trying to get the upper hand but it was marred by poor passes and erratic shooting by both set of players.
