PGhana television channel, Citi TV has signed a content rebroadcast agreement with Germany’s public international broadcaster, Deutsche Welle (DW).
The agreement allows Citi TV to broadcast international news content and quality documentaries produced by DW.
Despite being less than a year old, Citi TV has already gained a reputation in the Ghanaian media landscape for its quality programming and wide appeal to audiences.
The programme mix from DW that will now air at various times on Citi TV includes DW News which features key news stories from Europe and around the world with exciting reports, interviews and documentary films.
Along with the package is a compilation of well-researched reports on business, culture, lifestyle, sports and history.
The DW agreement forms part of Citi TV’s goal to keep its audiences informed and engaged with local and international news and current affairs.
Some special programmes of DW, which will be broadcast on Citi TV, include Eco@africa which showcases innovative concepts and best practice projects from Africa and Europe, as well as Drive it, a magazine show about cars.
DW has been in existence since 1992 and has established itself as a credible media company broadcasting quality news programmes across the world.
The partnership will put Citi TV in the lead in offering an all-around and extensive coverage of international news.
Citi TV, which commenced programming in June 2018, aims to be among the top three television stations in the country by December 2019 as it builds a broad audience base with partnerships like DW’s.
