Ashgold off to Morocco for RS Berkane tie
AshantiGold SC
left Ghana for Morocco yesterday to face RS Berkane in the second leg of the
CAF Confederation Cup first round.
The team departed from Obuasi to Accra and
arrived at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) where they boarded a flight to
the North African nation.
The Ghanaians recorded a 3-2 victory over the
Moroccans in the first leg clash at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium almost a
fortnight ago.
They blew away a decent opportunity to make the second leg an easy task when they took a two-goal advantage but allowed the Moroccans to fight back to draw even before the ‘Miners’ fought back gamely to score the winner.
That leaves the Ghanaians with a very difficult task at an unfriendly venue.
With just a
single goal victory, the Moroccans can sail through unless the ‘Miners’ can
score or reduce a defeat to a single goal deficit.
A contingent of 19 players plus club officials
made the trip to Morocco yesterday with one expected to be dropped for the match
day squad.
The full squad includes:
GOALKEEPERS: Frank Boateng, Robert Dabuo.
DEFENDERS: Atta
Kusi, Kwadwo Amoako, Roland Amouzou, Eric Donkor, Mubarik Yussif, Richard Osei
Agyemang, Musah Mohammed.
MIDFIELDERS: Appiah McCarthy, James Akaminko, Abdul Latif Anabila, Emmanuel Owusu,
Emmanuel Osei Baffour, Marco Aurelio Silva, Amos Addai, Julius Ofori Ziggy.
ATTACKERS: Shafiu
Mumuni, Mark Agyekum. –Ghanasoccernet
