AVODAH Int’l donates football equipment to 7 clubs

AVODAH International, formerly Soccer For Dreamers, has presented football equipment and menstrual cups to seven male and three female soccer clubs from the Greater Accra and Ashanti regions.
The presentation was made last week at the Media Centre of the Accra Sports Stadium.
The beneficiary clubs included Great Ambition, New Town Youth, and A5 Rennes from the Greater Accra region and Kumasi Hope FC, Alhaji Babies, Gucci FC, and Corners coming from the Ashanti region.
The rest were GRA Ladies, Sissamba Ladies, and Halifax Ladies.
Addressing them, the president of the group, Mrs Sylvia Akwaboah, urged owners and managers of youth soccer clubs across the continent to ensure that players blend education with sport in order to prepare for life after football.
Referencing a FIFPro study, she emphasised, the average career span of a professional footballer was just eight years.
This statistic, she said, becomes even more striking when compared to other professions, where careers typically span over 40 years, while the average age of retirement hovers around 35 and below.
To this end, she noted that her organisation, founded by three brothers—Baruch, Jed, and Kayden Akwaboah— thought it wise to set up a platform to train youth for free by introducing digital learning programmes in partnership with AmaliTech Ghana.
This programme offers courses in data analysis, database administration, digital marketing, and social media marketing, among others.
According to her, these skills are in high demand around the world now, and would prepare young people for life after football.
