Hearts, Kotoko face-off in Accra Sunday …Medeama host Vision FC today

Match day 30 of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) is expected to be full of fireworks as Accra Hearts of Oak welcome Kumasi Asante Kotoko to the Accra Sports Stadium in what is expected to be a potential cracker.
As the biggest traditional clubs in the country with remarkable achievement both home and continental, they share centre stage in the rich history of Ghana football.

When they play, it takes all the attention and Sunday’s clash would be no exception as they oil their respective machinery for the race to the top with very few matches left.
Both sides want to play in continental competition next season but with only two slots available, they need to add to their firepower to stand a chances of making it.
With one of the slots coming from the FA Cup competition, playing in Africa looks a reality for Kotoko who are still campaigning in the FA Cup and are at the semifinal stage.
In addition to that is the fierce competition for the Premier League which is currently led by Gold Stars.
For Hearts, they would require some fine margins to stand a chance to win the league as they return to their struggling form at the final stretch of the competition with six games to end it all.
That makes Sunday’s game as a vital one for them because a win against Kotoko can spark a new morale among the playing body to sustain a late winning rally.
But Coach Karim Zito, who passed his first test against Aduana Stars last week with Kotoko’s first win in the last four games under fired coach, Prosper Ogum, would pursue a second win with every strength in him, perfectly understanding the stakes in a Hearts versus Kotoko game.
Leaders Gold Stars would also be out to claim the maximum points in their game against Karela United at the Bibiani DUN’s Park.
Coming from a shocking defeat to Vision FC last week, Gold Stars cannot afford a second defeat on a row, especially as the chasers narrow down on them.
Back to the Dormaa Park, Aduana Stars would have to overcome the defeat to Kotoko last week as they face another threat in Berekum Chelsea while Dreams FC get set to enjoy the three points available for their game against Nsoatreman FC.
Bechem FC would show no mercy on Legon City when they clash at Bechem while Accra Lions attempt to make the most of the home advantage against Samartex FC.
Elsewhere, Nations FC will engage Accra Lions at the Dr Kwame Kyei Park in Abramkese, Kumasi while Young Apostles host Basake Holy Stars.
Medeama and Vision FC would kick the round of matches off with a Friday night clash (Today) at the TNA Park in Tarkwa.
