New ECG MD tours operational areas

The Acting Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Kwame Kpekpena, has embarked on an official tour of all ECG operational areas to interact and familiarise himself with grassroots staff.
The tour is also aimed at providing an opportunity for the new MD to share his visions and goals with staff and management across all the 16 regions and other operational divisions of the company.
Mr Kpekpena together with some Directors of ECG on Monday visited the Accra East region, including the Accra division of Sub-transmission (Sub-T) and the Accra West Region.
The itinerary will also include subsequent visits to the Central, Volta, Eastern, Western, Tema, Ashanti East, Ashanti South, and Ashanti West regions, alongside divisions such as Sub-T Ashanti, the Project Office, Materials Depot, Training Centre, Head Office, SU Tower, and Legon Workshop.
During a staff durbar at the Accra East region on Monday Mr Kpekpena expressed his gratitude to the staff for their support of his appointment and highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts between management and staff to elevate ECG to a leader in electricity distribution.
He emphasised four key principles that will underpin his administration: financial prudence, workplace discipline, open communication, and a system of rewards and sanctions.
Additionally, he mentioned that his leadership will focus on four thematic. These are; commercial operations, financial management, network operations, and technology development. The Ag. MD reassured that “there are already established expert teams in place to oversee these areas and implement strategies geared towards measurable outcomes.”
He, therefore, called on all staff to commit to maintaining discipline and financial prudence to ensure the sustainability of ECG’s operations in the country.
