Tennis: Accra City Doubles Open tourney starts today
The seventh edition of the Accra City Open Doubles tennis championship will kick off today at the Accra Lawn Tennis Club (ALTC) with over hundred players expected to vie for honours.
Matches would be played across various age divisions, including Men 30–39, Men 40–49, Men 50–59, Men 60–69, and Men 70 and above.
The women’s categories would have Women 40–49 and Women up to 39 years.
Other divisions include the Semi-Professional categories for ages 30–40 and 41 years and above, as well as Mixed Doubles Social and Mixed Doubles Semi-Professional categories.
According to Grandmaster Tennis Events, the organisers of the programme, the top two pairs in each group after the doubles round-robin stage will advance to the knockout phase of the tournament.
Institutions supporting the event includes SSNIT, Enterprise Good Life, Ghana Publishing Company (Assembly Press), Buka Restaurant (0su-R.E), Central Hotel (Ridge), and St. Michael Fruit Juice.
