9-man Olympics lose to Legon Cities
A nine-man Accra Great Olympics side suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat in the hands of their city rivals, Legon Cities in their week 13 clash of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) played at Sogakope.
Olympics thus dropped to the 11th position on the league table after 12 matches. They have an outstanding match against Medeama SC.
Legon Cities also narrowed the gap between them and Olympics to one as they moved the 13th position with 15 points.
After a barren first half, Legon Cities opened the scoring in the 56th minute through Kwabena Boateng with Joseph Mireku doubling the lead in the 95th minute.
Two players of Olympics – Christopher Nettey (81st minute) and Michael Yeboah (91st minute) were shown the marching off orders for second bookable offences.
That followed an earlier expulsion of Legon Cities’ Joseph Amoah in the 71st minute
