GAA, Django bros sign 3-yr pact

The Ghana Athletics Association (GAA) yesterday, signed a three-year renewable partnership with Tema Craft Brewery (TCB), producers of Gjango brothers’ range of beverages in Accra.

The deal would see Gjango brothers sponsor one major athletics championship to the tune of GH¢100,000 annually as well as provide administrative and developmental assistance to the GAA.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Deputy Director, Technical at the National Sports Authority (NSA) Mr Kwame Amporfi Jnr, commended the GAA for the partnership which would ensure the growth of athletics in the country.

He said Ghana’s participation at the Tokyo Olympics was evident that with proper investment, the country could win medals at the global stage.

He called on other corporate entities to come on board to support athletics and other federations in the country.

On his part, President of the GAA, Mr AfelibiekAbabu said, the development was a huge milestone in the history of Ghana athletics.

He pledged GAA’s commitmentto ensure that the relationship was maintained with a contract renewal after the first three years.

Marketing and Communications Manager at Django, Mr Chris Okpara said the company shared similar values of excellence, perseverance and optimism, hence the need to become partners for the growth of athletics.

“This is not a flash in the pan. We are very passionate about the partnership which would push both parties to greater heights,” he stated.
