Hasaacas Ladies beat Ladystrikers to maintain lead

Former Women’s League champions, Sekondi Hasaacas Ladies, left it late to grab their sixth straight win of the season when they defeated Ladystrikers 2-1 in the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League (Southern zone) game played at the Sekondi Gyandu Park on Saturday.

A 95th-minute strike from Fidous Yakubu sent Ladystrikers crushing to their fourth defeat of the season.

This was after Gifty Addai Boakye had put them ahead in the 11th minute but Doris Boaduwaa fetched the equaliser for Hasaacas Ladies seven minutes later.

Faith Ladies recorded a 4-1 away win over debutants, Ridge City Women, at the McDan La Town Park on Saturday while Po­lice Ladies came back from a goal down to draw 1-1 with debutants, Essiam Socrates Ladies.

In other games in the zone, Erica Appiah got the only goal for Army Ladies when they defeated Soccer Intellectuals 1-0 at the Teshie MATS Park while Mabel Amoyaw got a 96th-minute winner for Berry Ladies against Thunder Queens at the Legon PRESEC School Park.

In the Northern zone, Pearl Pia ladies came back from a Josephine Adowaa goal to beat Ashtown Ladies 3-1 with goals from Iddrisu Mariam and a brace by Abdul Rahman Barikisu at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.

Prisons Ladies held Dreamz Ladies to a goalless draw at the Bantama Astro Turf.
