Draughts: 11th Tema Open Championship slated for Dec. 5

The Tema Community 5 Draught Club, organisers of the annual Tema Open Draught Championship, has opened registration for the 11th edition to be held on December 5, at Tema Community 5.

The registration for the championship will be held on December 5, from 7 a.m. to 7:45 a.m., with the fee pegged at GH¢10. It is opened to all individuals who know how to play the game.

According to a statement from the organisers, winners of the competition would receive various cash prizes ranging from GH¢7,500 for the winner, while the first, second, and third runner-ups would receive GH¢4,500, GH¢3,000, and GH¢2,000, respectively.

Additionally, participants who qualify to the round-16th stage of the championship will receive GH¢50 each.

According to the statement, the championship is expected to commence at 8 a.m. prompt. It also indicated that breakfast and lunch would be served to all participants during the event, and, therefore, urged individuals who know how to play draught to register and participate in the competition.
